Tam Tam’s outdoor Music Together classes are 40-45 minutes long, held weekly in public parks in Fort Greene and Bed-Stuy. Class size is between 4-10 families. Expect singing, dancing, instrument shaking and a good time for all!
How do I find Tam Tam’s music class in the park?
When you sign up for a class, look in your inbox or spam folder for a confirmation message from Tam Tam. This message will have a Google class location pin and teacher’s phone number, in case you cannot find the class. Please share this info with your caregiver.
In case of bad weather
Weather forecast is sometimes unreliable, so we usually check the weather about an hour before the class. If it’s actively raining, if the ground is frozen, if the wind is above 20MPH, or if the temperature is below 35F, the class will meet on Zoom. Families who cannot deal with Zoom are welcome to schedule a makeup in another outdoor or indoor class. All makeups must be completed before the end of semester. There will be no refunds or credits offered for individual missed classes. Contact Tam Tam’s director with questions/concerns.
Help us keep everyone healthy
Please refrain from attending the class if you or your children are feeling unwell in any way (fever, cough, stomachache, headache, COVID, etc.) We offer unlimited makeups in classes that are not full.
If you or anyone in your family have received a positive COVID-19 test result after attending our outdoor class, please report that immediately to our office by text or email.
Instruments and facilities
Families new to Tam Tam will receive their music bag with the songbook, music download code and starter instruments. You are welcome to supplement those starter instruments with extra scarves, wooden spoons, tambourines, drums or any other percussion instruments that your child enjoys. Please bring a blanket and your music bag to each class.
There are no bathrooms available for outdoor music classes. Hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes will be provided by the teacher for your convenience.
Keep the musical immersion going for your child
Please turn off your cell phone in class. We need you to sing, dance and model other musical behaviors for your children.
No pets: babies may pull or pinch on a dog that comes close to them.

We realize that outdoor classes are not for everyone. We will be in a public space and there are many things out of our control, such as weather, ground conditions, bugs, noise, dust, etc. Please consider your comfort level regarding all these things prior to registering for class. Or, consider enrolling in our indoor classes!
